Q: Does the Express Lane work better than calling my orders in?
A: No. However, if you need service right away it’s best to call so we can get you on the schedule immediately. Orders taken through the Express Lane feature are checked hourly and are scheduled according to your indication. This is also a great way to keep a record of the units or properties you order services for.

Q: How soon will I be able to walk on my carpet again?
A: We recommend you keep regular traffic off the carpet for a period of 2 hours. You may use the carpet lightly immediately after cleaning if it is necessary.

Q: How long will it take my carpet to dry?
A: Normal drying time is from 2-4 hours, depending on the humidity level in the air, air movement and room temperature. Do not be alarmed if it takes longer especially when Teflon or Scotchgard has been applied.

Q: How long will it take my furniture to dry?
A: It typically takes anywhere from 6-8 hours. We recommend you abstain from using it until it is completely dry.

Q: Will all the spots come out?
A: We treat all spotted areas with the most professional techniques available today. However, we can not guarantee the removal. Many agents affect carpet dyes and some spots set in if not blotted up immediately.

Q: How safe are your cleaning and protection methods?
A: We use only the safest, most effective technology to assure not only your satisfaction, but your safety as well. No chemicals or residual of any kind is left behind in your carpet or upholstery.

Q: I've heard it's best to put off having your carpet cleaned as long as possible, is this true?
A: No. In fact, many of the major carpet mills today recommend professional cleaning at least once every 12-18 months to validate your warranty. The build up of soil in your carpet, in combination with foot traffic, creates an abrasion that breaks down your carpet's fibers. This coupled with time is what leads to a replacement. The higher the traffic in a given area, the more often the carpet will need cleaning.

Q: Why are there so many carpet, tile and upholstery cleaners with cheaper rates?
A: A lot of cleaners bait customers with low advertised prices, then hard sell them on the add on’s and extras when they get there. Others take short cuts and rely on volume to make there money. There is a BIG difference in cleaning things properly and thoroughly or making things appear to be clean. (Please read “cleaning to the standards” below. Q: What does "cleaning to the standards" mean?
A: In 1992, representatives from the carpet manufacturing industry, the carpet cleaning industry, and the federal government set a common list of standards for the carpet cleaning industry. These standards are now referred to as the Soo1-92 standards. It was agreed that the carpet cleaning processes should include these common steps:

- Pre-Vacuuming if there is loose debris
- Pre-treat spots, stains and heavily soiled areas
- Hot Water Extraction
- A thorough rinse
- Furniture Moving

Cleaning your carpet in accordance to these industry standards will help assure that you'll get a quality cleaning job.

Q: Do you service high rise buildings?
A: Yes.

Q: Can you get the pet odor out of my carpet?
A: Pet odor is a very common problem that often turns out to be much more complex than initially thought. Pet urine can easily soak through the backing of the carpet and into the padding underneath. In more severe cases the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding. This creates a problem that is multi-layered.

The urine also provides for the growth of bacteria. This in turn contributes to a worsening of the odor problem and can contribute to permanent color loss of the carpet fiber. To eliminate this problem, the urine must be removed or neutralized from each of the layers affected. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odor. In more severe cases a urine neutralizer may be applied.
In the most severe cases, replacement of the carpet padding, treatment of the under-side of the carpet and the sub-floor may be required.

Q: I’ve heard that dyeing carpets isn’t permanent and that the dye will transfer to you feet or furniture. Is that true?
A: Yes and No. Only certain types or carpet can be dyed and it takes a professional to know which ones. A carpet that is dyed correctly will not transfer and will last for years. Only carpet with nylon or wool yarn can be dyed successfully.

Q: My carpet has bleached or faded spots, can you correct that?
A: If there is color loss in the carpet, it may be able to be spot dyed, or we can do a Cut & Plug for you by replacing that area of carpet with another piece.

Q: Does Checkpoint Cleaning Service do binding and carpet repairs on Area or Oriental rugs?
A: At this time we do not. This is a craft all in it’s self and you should consult a professional in that industry.

Q: Do you offer Military and/of law enforcement discounts?
